Usually I'm looking for pairings first and then narrow it down. I'm a multishipper, but I'm not always in the mood for all my pairings and looking only for a specific one. I don't know if searching by -verse will be of much use to me.

As it is now, I'm pretty much scrolling past the majority of fics because of the additional fandoms and/or tags listed. Or because I've already read them. *g*

Ahhh...AO3 used to be able to search for multiple tags, but the filtering system is kaput at the moment and under renovation...so I suggest playing around under "advanced search" and see if you can convince the server to show you fics with certain pairings that are restricted by an additional tag specifying the 'verse.
