oh lord. The Sherlock fandom suffers from this so bad. I haven't really been on the receiving end of its oversaturation tooo much, though.
Basically the line "not my division" gets way overused to the point that it's not really funny anymore. Also talking about jam. or caling john Jawn.
it was funny at first, but now it's not. Pretty much.
Not sure I can think of any in-show ones for anything though...

All that stuff is a huge part of why I left Sherlock fandom. The hedgehog John thing bothers me the most, though Jawn and jam are also annoying. I do love "not my division", though, as Lestrade is my favorite character and I like that he got a meme for himself.

I've learned to just not consider those as 'jokes' anymore because they're no longer funny. For some reason my brain just goes 'oh, there's John and jam again. K. He eats that.'It's just a fanon quirk to me anymore.

Yeah. It makes me sad, because I still love the original Kate Beaton comic! (in fact I'm wearing the holmes + 2 watsons shirt of hers right now). The sherlock fandom just oddly decided to adopt it for some reason and it was all downhill from there. haha.

The Sherlock fandom adopts a lot of weird things from awkward places. I heard a theory online that it's both because we're an adaptation AND we have a canon that's very actively based in reality so to make up for it our fandom has to go out of their way to be weird.

well I must say that they are definitely succeeding in the being weird endeavour. XD

Where the hell did that Jawn thing come from, anyway? It's so unfunny it hurts.

And I'm so, so sick of jokes about "LOL JAM", "LOL WATSON'S JUMPERS", "LOL NO HOMO", "LOL MY DIVISION" ad nauseum.

I HONESTLY HAVE NO IDEA. I think it must have something to do with how Benedict Cumberbatch pronounces it, but to be honest he just sounds like he's saying... John? I don't even know.
I think the problem is that there were 6 episodes over the course of like 2 years or something. Although they are quite long that is very little source material. I guess it means they just get fixated on little moments and then promptly beat them to death, thus inciting the rage of other fans.
This poor fandom.
