I agree with you, generally speaking, about people throwing all of their criticism (or all of their praise) at Moffat like he's the only writer working behind the scenes

Actually, my point was that everyone acts like his word is the only word that matters.

But yes, he is the one who wrote the episode that that line come from. Which is ironic, given that he's the one writer for the show who has expressed his opinion on Sherlock's sexuality, and he's said he's not asexual. And yet, he writes dialogue like that... Heh.
