...I got through those books while working twelve hour days minimum. At any rate I read the whole damn series, or what we yet have of it, in a less than two months.

...Yet I've never managed to finish the Harry Potter series. I'm not entirely sure how I feel about this. Oh well, good fanfiction > the epilogue.

Congratulations! That makes you a fast and dedicated reader. Unfortunately - which is the point I was trying to make as to why some people don't sit down to read 5K+ pages - not everyone has the time or ability to do that. Being abrasive and insulting about it will make them less likely to read the books, not more.

You've never managed to finish the Harry Potter series, yet you've read the epilogue? Okay then. Not anywhere near the point I was making, but okay.

Wait. Hang on. You've ignored every point I've tried to make, responded with your personal semi-relevant anecdotes, and finished with a trite, outdated idiom and "hah?" I'm sorry, I had no idea I was talking with a complete media snob. I'll just watch my brain-rotting nature documentaries somewhere else and talk ASoIaF/GoT fandom with people who keep open minds. Sorry for wasting your time trying to help you see the other side of a situation.

Though somehow I doubt you'd complain as much if they'd made Game of Thrones movies instead.
