anyone else so excited for this they could shit?

i've been waiting for something to push my thief button and this looks to be exactly it, especially since info about thief 4 seems to be in short supply.

ps: it was hard as fucking hell to find anything that summed up thief's gameplay briefly so i just went with the intro movies from the trilogy... other than the assassination aspect (and the graphics obviously) the dishonored video is nearly identical to how thief plays.

Something about the first trailer rubbed me the wrong way, and steampunk is my least favourite speculative genre ever (aside from zombie post-apoc), but I've liked everything I've heard about it since.

i'm not too amazed by steampunk either personally -- thief and FF6 are really the only things i care about in that vein, but dishonored has always struck me as being more along the lines of diesel-punk -- it looks like someone grafted the 1930s/40s with the 1700s.

I know my computer probably won't be able to play it but it looks really cool.

Still, man, that voice acting cast? Susan Sarandon and Carrie Fisher?

it'll be on the console toys too though.

would've liked to have seen stephen russell in there (he did several voices in thief, including the main character, as well as a number of voices in fallout 3) but the cast is impressive otherwise.

Hm, maybe I'll finally have a PS3 by then! (Studied abroad so I'm waiting until my bank account can handle it before getting it).

I'm just impressed with how strong voice casts are getting in general. Or how video games are just getting really good talent in general.

there's no better time to get a ps3 than right now -- it's really come into its own.

i have to replace the HD on mine, though, it's a bit knocky.

I am waiting for this so hard I can't even articulate how hard I'm waiting for it!

It doesn't help that I've not been interested in any games released this year except Mass Effect 3, and we won't talk about that disappointment...

yeah, i'm looking forward to torchlight 2 (i bought the 4-pack for some friends) and borderlands 2 (which i'll probably pick up later) but the only games i'm actually really excited for other than dishonored got postponed to next year.

though i suspect arkane is REALLY happy that one of those games that got postponed is bioshock infinite.
