What's the deal with Rhinox

So, I ran across an old comment thread from some Beast Wars fan complaining about some ficcer who was bashing a character called Rhinox. Then there was a long discussion that made no sense because I didn't know who the characters were, but Rhinox = douchebag seemed clear.

But then, like, two minutes later, I clicked into another old journal entry from another fan that was more about this other Beast Wars ship, but mentioned Rhinox and made it clear that he was a good guy.

I know not one single thing about Beast Wars, but now I suddenly want to know wtf is the right interpretation. Is he a douchebag or not?

Rhinox is a good guy. There was one episode where he turned evil and acted like a douchebag, but other than that one instance he really isn't. I don't know, maybe that person just really didn't like him or something.

From what I remember, Rhinox was like the only one with any common sense. I guess that's obnoxious should you prefer all the characters who have none.

Transformers fan here--I am having trouble comprehending how anyone could interpret Rhinox as a douchebag... O___o If anyone were a douchebag it'd be Tarantulas, or maaaybe Rattrap.
