they definitely have an exceptional amount of good guys but I dunno I just really like that there was one healthy family around. And the longer they're in the whole mess it seems to me the less good they become and the more morally grey. But yeah, only in book 4.

Though you're right to start with they were definitely the good guys, now I wouldn't say it that absolutely.

(on a side note, every time I write "SPOILERS" before a comment I have this mental picture of someone in a room full of people standing up and yelling "SPOILERS" before sitting down again and talking in a normal voice.)

I think its because of their beliefs. The Starks believed so much in honor and the Lannisters are more sinister, conniving, and backstabbing. Their code of honor is the one that gets them further ahead. They're definitely more willing to fight dirty than Ned and Robb ever were, which is why the Starks come off as being the good guys while the Lannisters the bad.

I'd agree with you for the Freys, Bolton, Greyjoy, and Targaryen, but what about Highgarden and Tully? Highgarden seemed to have their shit together and the Tully did too, outside of Lysa. Or are we only talking about Lannister, Stark, Baratheon, and Targaryen?
