I'm always prouder of the weird things it took me five minutes to make more than the I SPENT A WEEKEND CRAFTING THIS BEAUTIFULNESS. Probably because I have less time to overthink it?

Oh god, I am the world's most epic overthinker. I have pages & pages of notes and tons of headcanon and, like, storyboards and shit. It is totally unreasonable. But I like it! I discovered this last summer when writing a more historically-themed AU big bang [er...well, it wasn't meant to be a big bang, but that's how it ended up]--the little details in that are ridiculously specific and legit, and no one will ever know but me. And I totally loved doing it.

...uh, well, ifyouinsist (no, srsly, this fic is a flop. We're talking Battlefield Earth, Waterworld, John Carter-level flop. I spent aaaaaaaages on it, and zippo. Guess that's what happens when you take the ensemble darkhorse from a very small fandom and pair him with a widely-hated character from another, eh?? But again, it was fun. :D)

Will I understand this fic if I've never seen Boardwalk Empire? It looked lovely when I looked at your page when you linked me that Remus/Tonks/Sirius fic but I wasn't familiar with half of the characters in your summary in your Big Bang one:/

(I know what you mean about over-researching and over-working something that no one reads though. My Frankenstein crossover is totally my baby and I swear that the only person who has even looked at it is anonymouslyyours xD That's what you get for not making your fic John/Sherlock and for then making it a really weird AU.)

Ahhhh...eeeeeemaybe. Well, a bit. It does help if you have. And it's a great show! But, y'know, give it a chance if you're bored; read Wikipedia (and/or the Boardwalk Wiki) if you're desperate for backstory. I can provide proper links if needed. But no, yeah, I think there's a cross-section of about eight people in the world who know/like all of these characters; I was kinda asking for trouble here. But again, fun!

I declared before I posted it that if it never got a single reader I still wouldn't be sorry I did it because I adore the characters and had quite a lot of fun doing it, crazypants research (like almost getting stuck on a train to Boston) and all. It would be good if I could channel this fondness into something I could actually publish, but y'know. 'S all about the ~art, really.
