I wished they didn't say anything for his name. People would've got to make their own choices on who they saw him as... It just felt so lame and they could've got so much screentime for other-better- things.
To me though he was none of those people that people try to label him as, he was one anonymous man taking up Batman's throne.
It would've been so much better without that specific detail.

omg WOW this is exactly my opinion! I'm always irritated when people put TDK at the top of "best comic book movie" lists and such, because to me, it's a crime thriller that happens to have a dude running around in a batsuit in it. A good movie, objectively, but not much of a "comic book movie."

I know this discussion is old, but I just wanted to say that Tyrion seeing his actions as negative seems to me to be an indication that it's not a moral event horizon. If he were irredeemable I think he would see his actions as totally justified. The Tyrion of A Dance with Dragons is so self-loathing, not someone who seems to be reveling in evil.
