From what i've seen it's mostly other straight "gay warrior" girls. Other gays I've known just find it weird, me included.

That's what I found interesting on the thread the other day - the gay guys were just "whatever" whereas most rabid opponent was female.

I don't find it offensive either. Just weird and hilarious at the same time.

I guess the only thing I find offensive is the "I'm with you but I'm still straight!" aspect which pisses me off.

I hate that one so much! Like, I'm not into non-con or weepy ukes or whatever, but as long as it's seen as a kink and not as how gay men actually are, but that one makes me back button right away, not matter how good hte fic is otherwise. Bisexuality exists! I saw one fic where the guy denied being both gay and bi, but still in love with a dude, and I'm just like...what. If the kink is straight dudes boning each other, it can be done in less stupid ways.

Well, they could be bi, which is my point. Bisexuality can be used as a way to both have your character have a queer identity and not disqualify or ignore any canonical opposite-sex love interests. Bisexuality seems to have been the trend in fic for the past few years, which makes me really happy. Also having a dick=/=man, not having a dick=/=not a man.

As I said, If the kink is straight dudes boning each other, it can be done in less stupid ways. What you bring up is an entirely different trope. I have no problem with the straight guy thing if it's just sex/experimentation/whatever or if the dude is supposed to be huge closet case, but when it's like "I'm deeply in love with this man and will spend the rest of my life with him, but I'M STRAIGHT HOW DARE YOU SAY OTHERWISE", it pisses me off.
