I don't even remember at what point I just stopped reading TWD and gave up on it. After [Carl] for certain.

And knowing Kirkman works closely with the tv series is no plus imo.

I do like him better in the comics, but the TV one does make me want to rap his knuckles tbh. Even if he has grown on me.

aah ok, yeah I've only ever watched the show. I tried to read the comics, but I think that kind of comic is just not for me, the way it's written just seemed so forced and not at all like dialogue to me. :c

How the hell did he survive being shot in the face in a post-apocalyptic world overrun by zombies though?

The dialogue didn't bug me, so I don't know what that says about my taste in anything haha. The comics seemed novel to me when I got into them ("Zombie comic, but it's about the slow burn human drama? I WILL LOVE THIS!"), and I actually liked that there was a lot of character death. But that trick gets old, especially when it's obvious Kirkman just goes for shock value because it's all he has left to tell :(

Oh idk reasons probably. And then he was in a coma, and I stopped reading because I couldn't take any more grim dumb for the sake of drama anymore. It's just bad.
