They obviously have some kind of emotional issues and they're not hurting anyone but themselves. If you perceive it as manipulative and don't want to encourage it that's your prerogative, but don't add to their problem. And even if they are doing this for attention who fucking cares? *Everyone* needs attention, it's not a crime, and if this person needs attention so terribly that they want to crack their head open, I'm going to take that as a cue to give them a little. Again, you don't have to do that, but you don't have to be an asshole about it either.

So, you don't think telling people who are trying to help you about how badly they're going to hurt/kill themselves, and they're not helping enough is assholish. Gotcha.

You acted like they were trying to blame us or something but they didn't. They basically said the opposite.
