The Rhodey switch probably didn't help that. Cheadle does nothing for me, but I love the idea of Howard!Rhodey smiling indulgently while fending off a drunken Tony's advances in college (there's an adorable fanart of that somewhere).

But yeah, that's a bit odd. Not like it needs to be someone's exclusive ship, but good gravy, the Avengers movies tend to match everyone with everyone else happily enough. Shame Rhodey doesn't get more action.
