When I was a kid (10 years old) I was riding my bike on the ramps at the local skate park. It was pretty small, with just some basic ramps, and though it was off to the side of the local sports/leisure center, and usually had a bunch of teenagers hanging around, it was empty except for me that day.

An old man on his bike came over and fell off of it, like ten feet away from me. He called to me, told me he couldn't get up, could I help him? I didn't say anything, just pedaled towards the sports center as fast as I could. I looked over my shoulder for just a second, and saw him get up on his own easily, getting back on his bike. He started to head in my direction.

I flipped out and pedaled so fast I went flying into the parking lot of the sports center. The people coming out looked at me like I was a freak, and I crashed when I ran into the curb, but when I looked back behind me the guy was gone.

I never rode my bike alone again.
