idk if I've had moments THAT creepy, but a few that were up there.
+Once while travelling in Costa Rica, I went to a "dance" in the town I was staying at. I was hoping it would be a real dance - like people would do real dances with each other...sigh, I was wrong. It was all just dirty dancing like usual. NOT my thing. So I'm standing awkwardly in a corner and these three guys come up to me and they were like "hi" and then one asked, "Do you have a boyfriend?" Stupid me didn't realize at first that they weren't just trying to make conversation, and answered truthfully, "Yes, but he's at home [in the States]." So then they basically asked me if I wanted to dance with them, "You in front, me behind," and when I realized what they were asking I was like ewwwwww DNW DNW and left. (At the time I was....not quite 17? and had literally zero physical/sexual experience of any kind unless you count really innocent cuddling) but anyway, it left me feeling...really creeped out
+My brother's friend decided he wanted to fuck me. He broke up with his girlfriend shortly after I broke up with my boyfriend (ironically, the same boyfriend I was speaking about in the last situation, and it was right before I went to Costa Rica for the second time - I was 20) and he started chatting me one night and I thought nothing of it, and then he said something about coming over to "say goodbye" to me before I left for my trip, which was weird since I didn't really know him. He started talking about how he wanted to "try stuff" like cuddling - he missed it, etc. I was like "I miss it too but not interested, I barely know you and I don't really want to do that with someone I'm not dating" and I told him not to bring it up again. Well, about a week later when I was in Costa Rica, he chatted me and started saying the same things, and then was like "Okay, honestly? I want you." And I was like "not okay, I told you to drop it," and blocked him. Only person I've ever blocked on FB. The best (worst) part? Found out after I got home that he'd been sending inappropriate texts to my then-13yo sister. I was appalled. We both talked to our mom who talked to our dad who talked to my brother, and the two are no longer friends.
not before my brother, who is kind of an ignoramus because he's 20-going-on-12 years old, made some nasty remarks to me about it.+Just general stuff with people - I HATE it when people, especially older men, who I don't know touch me in any way, like put their hand on my back when walking by me, ew, I feel like I have to shake that off or something. I hate it when strange men call me "sweetheart". Those have happened to me more than once and they creep me the fuck out.
in case you can't tell, creepy people are basically one of my least favorite things, *ever*And I hope I never get molested at a con. Because 1) ew, that would suck and 2) I'm the kind of person who would cause a scene. Which depending on the people...can make it look I'm my fault (blame the victim, etc.) I've never experienced that personally but I don't think I would handle it well. I'm going to Gen Con in like...two days. I'm not really worried - I'm careful, and I'm driving myself/not staying downtown (I live in Indy), and I'm not wearing anything really ~~slutty~~ (it's really horrible that that's even a factor, and let me be clear that I *do not* think that makes it a person's fault if she's molested), and I'm a pretty confident and bold person, but...I've also heard that Gen Con has basically no harassment policy. D:

I actually read the post by Wundergeek where she lamented the lack of a harassment policy and am really pleased to see this follow up =3
