It was the summer right after I turned 12.

I'd just gotten out of swimming class and was waiting for the bus all by my lonesome when a tall, lanky guy sauntered into the bus shelter with me. He pulled out a polaroid photo of an exposed groin with blue jeans pulled down to the knees. He asked, "do you want to see more?"

I had no idea what the picture was. I knew I didn't want to talk to him any further so I said, "no thanks," and turned my back to him. I stared at his reflection in the glass until the bus arrived. He didn't get on.

I never reported this to the police. I didn't know what I saw until a few years later so I didn't know how bad it was. I want to be able to turn back time and tell my younger self to report the creep asap :/

Bonus story:

Two months later, my parents hired an Arab family to put in new carpets at home. The good-looking 20something-year-old son of the family asked me how to say "I love you" in my native language. I was naive so I told him. He spent the rest of the afternoon saying it to me and trying to teach me how to say it back in Arabic. Thank goodness my parents told him to leave me alone and they gave me busywork so I wouldn't be alone with him.

He came back the next day to do some touch-up work. I ignored him by playing video games. It was so awkward ,_,
