I'm in the exact same situation, different subject matter, but same situation. It's horribly unhealthy, completely unrealistic, and devastating to the soul. I know these things, but I can't stop. So I can't in my right mind pass judgement or suggest that you "get help" because I myself refuse to. I've been "chasing" the same guy for at least 10 years now, watching him from afar. When they first made public the knowledge of his to-be-born child, I fell apart. Almost literally. I have never cried so hard in my life. I was shaking so hard I threw my back out. I couldn't eat. I tried to give him up, tried to move on and find something else to occupy my time but I keep going back. I keep letting it kill me inside. I hope this doesn't happen to you, I mean that from the very bottom of my soul.

Sometimes I listen to From Afar by Van Halen. It can help a little from time to time.
