I can see real life friends who are a bad influence on you "it's me or the crack smokers!" I can see folks who fear there SO is, say, addicted to online gaming "It's me or call of duty!"

But "it's me or your friends" especially online friends who likely take up notable less of one's overall time, assuming all else is healthy? That's just a bad fucking sign right there and a way to make the answer very, very easy.
