No, I'm not saying oppression is not a thing that happens. I'm not saying that racism or sexuality has never stopped someone getting employment or got them into trouble etc. I'm not saying that hate and prejudice do not exist.

No, they're saying that being white and cis gives her advantages over people who are PoC and trans -- nobody will assume she's a terrorist from her skin color, nobody will ignore what pronouns she wants to be referred to as, etc. No one's saying that erases the disadvantages that come from being female.

Having thought more about it and looked some stuff up I concede that you have a point and I may have been being an ass.

Being confrontational about it only made me angry want to stick to my guns harder though, so you might want to consider that next time.

I'm sorry your ignorance on a really important subject made someone sound a bit frustrated, after what is probably the 10,000th time hearing the same corrosive ignorance as if it's new.

I think having been disadvantaged by things not related to race/sexuality etc made me resistant to the idea that I had some sort of special privilege, when it sure as hell hasn't felt that way. Hence I got a bit angry.

let's compare apples with apples here-- if you were not straight, your life as a white cis woman without a job would be harder, if you were not cis, your life as a white woman without a job would be harder, if you were not white nor asian, your life as a cis woman would be harder. THAT is privilege. it doesn't mean having one aspect of your life better than other people means you aren't oppressed in other ways. don't be obtuse and ridiculous.
