(Anonymous) 2012-08-17 11:59 pm (UTC)(link)Thanks. Even with all of this SJW bullshit, I'm still going to be an ally through and through. If certain people are putting my sexuality and gender identification down, I just won't be friends or interact with those people.
Even if I'm hurt, I still want my LGBTQ friends to have the same rights that I do.
I'm just upset I had to break ties with a long time friend, and I think THAT is what's hurting me the most.

In the vast majority of cases though, this is "x is an asshole in this group" rather then "x is an asshole representative of this group"
You just have to dissociate the asshole from your thoughts when thinking of the group itself!
(unless of course that group is SJW's)

Yeah that's pretty much how I have to think about it. Just because THEY were an asshole doesn't mean ALL LGBTQ are. The shit they posted still hurts me, but I think de-friending them and moving on with that mindset will be best.
