People wanted another one, so...
PANFANDOM REC MEME
"I ship it!"
"I want fic!"
"I want art!"
"I don't care what it is, but I want it!"
"Where's the fandom?"
Rec meme! You ask for recs, and others provide (or fill!).
Maybe there's something you'd really like to see but you can't find it. Why not ask for help? It might be out there! Or maybe there's something you really loved reading and you want someone to geek over it with. Why not rec it to someone else? Maybe they'll love it too! Who knows, someone out there might be looking for something that sounds exactly like someone you know just created.
Don't feel bad about reccing your own stuff, either! Apparently someone else wants to see it, right?
TEXTBOX (optional, dont worry):
Regular post will be up at the usual time!

PRIMUSATEMYLEG, IS THAT YOU???Would you like me to describe driving my big rig, anon? I don't know if you're into size kink, but my truck has ten gears. TEN. It's hot.

He's a friend of mine who once said that descriptions of shifting gears turned him on. So you're not alone. XDOkay, so! Here is some babble about driving.
To get any big rig in gear from a standstill, you have to push the clutch aaaall the way down for a bit. This activates the clutch brake and slows the rotation of the clutch enough to put it in gear. Depending on how heavily you are loaded, you generally put it in first, but might start out in second gear, or even third if you are bobtail or your trailer is empty. Let the clutch out slowly. You don't need to step on the gas. The engine has plenty of torque, it won't stall out unless you're starting uphill with a heavy load. Once you're in motion, give the gas pedal a delicate massage. If you tap it too hard or let off suddenly the truck will lurch and jerk--low gears are very sensitive to gas input, so take it gentle.
To shift gears, you're going to need to double-clutch. Push the clutch in (not too far!), pop it out of gear, take your foot off the clutch and immediately press it down again, put the truck in the next gear up, take your foot off the clutch, and resume driving. With practice, the whole process will take about 1-2 seconds and the RPMs will have fallen to where they will be in the next gear. This ensures a smooth upshift and keeps up your momentum, helping you to get up to speed faster.
In the lower gears, upshift at very low RPMs. Optimally the tach shouldn't go above 1200. Gradually increase upshift RPMs as you move up through the gears.
Downshifting is also important, and also requires double clutching. The major difference between upshifting and downshifting is that you will need to rev the engine, since your next gear requires higher RPMs. A quick punch of the gas pedal while you are pushing the clutch in the second time should be sufficient. It's a bit difficult, but if you get the RPMs right, your downshift will be smooth as silk. Always try to downshift until you are going less than 30 miles per hour before just pushing in the clutch and braking. It's considered bad form to coast that far.
An interesting sidenote to downshifting: every truck I've been in has the same quirk of not going into gear right away when shifting from fifth to fourth gear. The engine will just idle until I tap the gas, whereupon it "jerks" into gear like it suddenly realized it wasn't in neutral. It's really odd, especially since this is across three different makes. I need to investigate further.
I hope this was at least partially what you were looking for, anon! I can always babble some more if you really want, I didn't even get as far as splitter switches and jake brakes with this. P:
