Rec meme! You ask for recs, and others provide (or fill!).

Maybe there's something you'd really like to see but you can't find it. Why not ask for help? It might be out there! Or maybe there's something you really loved reading and you want someone to geek over it with. Why not rec it to someone else? Maybe they'll love it too! Who knows, someone out there might be looking for something that sounds exactly like someone you know just created.

Don't feel bad about reccing your own stuff, either! Apparently someone else wants to see it, right?

Oh, I love that trope! If you can check it out, PJO and MLR are getting sequel series now (Heroes of Olympus for the former, and the latter is for the manga canon and called Gods of the New World but no idea how scanlations are doing now.) Also from Rick Riordan there's The Kane Chronicles for Egyptian mythology. And from Gaiman there's also Anansi Boys. You probably already know most of this, though.

But anyway, that's just from writers you've liked. Now for some fresh stuff:

- "Gods behaving badly" by Marie Phillips. It's a decaying Greek pantheon in London, and the greatest thing is she does show the gods as the douchebags they are in myths. It's really fun, a bit NSFW.

- "Eight Days of Luke" by Diana Wynne Jones. This one is Norse, a British boy accidentally releases Loki and there are shenanigans. It's a constant "spot the Norse god" game and so cute.

- I haven't read this one yet, it's on my wishlist. "Iris, messenger" by Sarah Deming is one of those too.

- If you're okay with Christianity, the manga "Saint Young Men" by Hikaru Nakamura. Slice of life comedy in which Jesus and Buddha go on holidays and share an apartment in Japan. It's hilarious!

- Even if you don't care about Marvel comics and it's not quite what you asked, considering your tastes and sense of humor you might like this. "Journey into Mystery" is a Thor spinoff starring a preteen Loki. He doesn't exactly live on Earth, but there ARE Midgard shenanigans (it's been some years since Marvel!Asgard is over Oklahoma, long story) and he loves gadgets and the Internet. If you're interested, I can point you out what to read in what order.

Oh my God, thank you! <3 This is an awesome rec list.

- Yep, I know about all the sequel series! I'm a little behind on them, though, due to being busy. Only read the first book each of both of Rick Riordan's series - both made me grin, though, and especially the Kane Chronicles because I'm fond of Horus and Egyptian mythology in general. But even though I love MaLoRa to bits, the scanlations are kind of a mess right now. I really need to do some serious searching and figure out what I've read/what I haven't/what isn't out yet.

- That Marie Phillips book sounds AWESOME. Gods being douchebags is the best thing about them, really. I even checked my library's catalogue, and they have it! I'll pick it up sometime soon. Sadly, the Sarah Deming book wasn't there, but I'll check out a few other libraries.

- It's funny I didn't know Eight Days of Luke was about that! I used to love Diana Wynne Jones when I was younger, but I don't think I ever read this book. (Then again, I might've read it way back then and forgot).

- I...probably shouldn't want "Saint Young Men" but I really, really do. It sounds so deliciously cracky and cute. Actually, I just read the first bit ("Buddha's Day Off") and I'm already a little charmed. Johnny Depp indeed!

- Sure! That'd be great! I'm a bit on the verge of the Avengers fandom, so I totally don't mind actually reading a comic. Especially with a preteen Loki, because it sounds really cute. (Even though the first time I watched Thor my brain just kind of shorted out and I went "But...Thor and Loki aren't brothers. They aren't brothers. They're BFF!". But I've since gotten used to it, and Loki on the Internet both intrigues and terrifies me.)

I just wanted to say, aksndkaenfk I LOVED Eight Days of Luke, it was so adorable. Luke was hlarious, and I didn't believe for one second that he killed Baldr by accident.
