I used to be scornful of this comm (especially when it was exclusively on LJ), but I'm finding this comm to be to be fun, wank, troll secrets and all. I come here more often than most anon memes. (I still frequent one fandom-specific meme, but that's because I have ties to it.)

Sad but true. I run a mildly popular fan comm, and I have way more fun here than there.

I'm mostly the same. I think I should feel bad about it but I don't.

Or, rather, this is the first fandom discussion comm I ever found, and I've never had a more positive comm experience anywhere else.

Fandom communities have lost their sparkle a little...I'm not sure why. Maybe I'm getting too old?

It fits for me too, since the fandoms I am in tends to mirror the fandoms posted on FS.

This is the only fandom-y place that has managed to hold my interest for more than a few months. The wank is funny, the non-wanky discussion is often quite interesting, and the General Comments section is made of sunshine and rainbows and small fluffy animals (including spiders). What's not to love?

Oh me too. It gives me the same feeling of socialization but has way less pressure and expectation. And it's easier to muck about on from my kindle while I'm working. Plus I'm more comfortable dorking out here.

Yup! I do visit other fandom sites but not near as often as fandomsecrets. I'm so much more involved here now than I've been in the past few years of fandom. If you get something out of it OP, that's okay. You can still talk about fannish stuff here, so it makes sense.

Same for me. Mostly because everything moved to DW and this is the only comm that was worth dealing with this BS site for.

Yeah, this is pretty much the only place I do fandom. I mean, I read fanfic and whatnot, but F!S is the only place I actually, you know, interact with other people in any way, shape or form. *shrugs*

yeah, you're not alone there op. I frequent a couple comms, but this one is pretty much where I get my main fandom fix, as it were. I'm just not very good at participating in fandoms.

I have kind of a habit of clinging to one place because I can't be bothered to juggle different communities, though. I had a period of several months back in....I think 2008? when pretty much the only comm I visited regularly was fandom_wank. :D That was a wild and crazy time. I think I got banned from and HP comm and two separate journals on completely different occasions when I couldn't resist wading into the wank. Ahhhh...youth. Or something.

Me too, actually. I mean, I roleplay so I guess that counts, but I don't read fic or anything... I just talk on ONTD and here.

I don't use tumblr, and all the LJ communities for my fandoms are either dead or nonexistent, so I thought I was done with online fandom. The secrets here are pretty entertaining, the comments even more so, and I've been exposed to movies/tv I wouldn't have watched otherwise. There was a David Mitchell secret, maybe sometime last year, that got me to watch Peep Show and I am so grateful because it is like my favorite thing ever. And if wasn't for all of the Loki Loki Loki Loki Loki, I would never have watched Thor, which was much better than I expected. And I may even go see The Avengers this weekend.

I kind of feel like I don't fully participate because I don't make secrets. But I don't have any "secrets," unpopular opinions and crackships, yes, but not secrets.

Eh, I highly doubt most of the submissions are actual "secrets". I think it's mostly unpopular opinions or maybe something you want to get off your chest to a larger audience than just personal journals.

Meh, when I make secrets they're not really "secret" in the sense that I don't want to tell people I know. It's just that I'm such a lurker that I don't have anyone to talk about it with. Hence, FS.

I don't have a lot of time for community spaces thanks to odd work/volunteer hours and school. It's basically commenting here, occasional tumblr posts, and speeding through the Sherlock anon meme.

Yep. Other than lurking on several roleplay comms, this place is kinda the onlyreason why I have a Dreamwidth account in the first place.
