I was a little girl who idolized Trini instead of her and was annoyed when it became the Kimberly and Tommy show, so I didn't quite get it at first. But Kim's really a warm and sweet character. She looks like a vapid stereotype, but she's more than that. Keep rocking with your bad self, Kim.

But if you're looking for a Pink Ranger of a different type, might I suggest Time Force? Jen's quite different, to put it mildly. The new leader of her own police unit and she drives her team hard, but there's more to her. She ended up being my favorite Pink by the end or the season.

Hell yes to the Time Force rec. That particular season did some pretty amazing things in terms of characterization (compared to other seasons, anyway), but having Jen be such a strong female character was most definitely a huge plus.

Sorry you didn't get the appeal of Kimberly. As a young mother during this time period, I love Kimberly. Sure she was perky, a cheerleader and a gymnast and her favorite color was pink but there was so much more about her character that you apparently didn't see. To this day she's still one of my favorite characters. It's sad you don't see that.

But all the Power Rangers in Mighty Morphin had bland cookie-cutter personalities.

I feel like you must have missed all the episodes where she was a badass and/or had some serious character development, because "vapid" and "adds nothing to the show" aren't words I would use for her in a million years.

I mean, I can get why someone might not like her, but vapid and useless she is not. And I'm really glad I had her (and Trini and Aisha) as a role model growing up, because yeah, she's the "girly" one, but she also knows exactly what she wants out of life and she takes shit from no one. I did love her when I was little, but I think I love and appreciate her even more now.
