I'm always baffled by the idea of keeping your superpowers a secret from your parents (I mean, when your parents are nice reasonable people like mine). If I got bitten by a radioactive spider and woke up being able to hang upside down on the ceiling, the first I would do is go downstairs and say, "Hey Ma, look at the awesome shit I can suddenly do!"
