Well, my favorite shows are Slings & Arrows, Wonderfalls, Pushing Daisies, Sabrina the Teenage Witch, Rome and Pretty Little Liars. I'm up for sitcoms if they're not too ragingly sexist- I've liked some of Wings and Malcom in the Middle. I usssed to be an anime fan, but it's been a long time and the last thing I watched was Excel Saga.

Have you tried Warehouse 13? I love Pushing Daisies and it has a similar quirky feel, I think.

I've also been finding the anime Sgt. Frog pretty amusing. If you liked Excel Saga, I think you might enjoy it.

My brother was literally just telling me to watch Warehouse 13! Clearly, the universe wants me to watch it. And I will look into Sgt. Frog!

Parks and Recreation. Seriously, you will not regret it.

I want to roll around in this comment like a dog in roadkill shouting "THIS!".

Okay, you know that scene in the second (I think) Galentine's day episode, where Leslie fills the office with a bazillion colorful balloons and then welcomes Ann in while telling her how awesome she is? That's pretty much the perfect representation of the show. Joy and loveliness and sweetness and light all around, with Leslie standing in the middle with a huge smile telling you, personally, how awesome you are and how much fun you are going to have.

And then it's really frickin' hilarious on top of that.

Is there any better starting point than the pilot? I ask because I fell asleep to the pilot once, and someone else said it improved a lot in season two.

The first season is pretty bad — basically just a rip-off of The Office. I'd say anywhere in the middle of season 2 is a good place to start. Or at the beginning of season 2 if you really like watching things in order — there are a couple of events in season 1 that have a lasting impact on season 2, but you don't really need to see them because they're pretty simple and clear-cut, and the characters' conversations catch you up on everything you need to know pretty quickly. Also, there's a pretty big change in style and characterization starting with season 2.

There are story arcs but the ones in season 2 are minor and it's not that that important to watch them in order until season 3.

I'm so glad someone else did that! I tried to watch the first episode this week and just did not get the appeal. May give season 1 a miss.

Season 1 is VERY different in tone. They were working out the kinks (to their credit, they did it quite quickly.) There IS good stuff in there, in my opinion, particularly the last few eps (and season one's only six episodes long,) but if you don't like the pilot, don't assume you won't like any of it.
