Do you really need to get a pap smear, even if you're a virgin? My GP told me that I don't need to get one if I was a virgin, and I believed her. *nervous now*

They told me I don't need to for a couple of years.

However, because I'm over eighteen it's permanently on my chart so every time I go in they mention it. Every time when I say, "I thought I wouldn't need one until I'm older." They respond, "Oh yes, that's true. It's just good to get it done. You never know." But it's the nurses who bug me about it, not my doctors.
