I disliked both, because I don't see why people have to make assumptions on your love / sexual life. I don't find theirs very interesting, and I'm vaguely worried that some think that every relationship has to be sexual.
On the other hand, I'm lucky to work in an environment where the worst I faced for being thought to be a lesbian was to have people suddenly becoming self-conscious when they sprouted a "gay joke" in my presence (which is a good thing, because hey, I don't like rampant homophobia), or being too afraid to ask about my love life (presumably because they wouldn't want to hear about it).
But in a different context, being thought to be gay, whether it's true or not, could get you into real troubles.
So there's a definite added negative effect to this.
