I agree about TP Link/Zelda, but for some reason I can't ship them in ST or SS either. I know they're the two biggest games for Zelink fanatics, and I can see why, but it just doesn't work for me. It's probably because they openly tried to make the games appeal to the popular ship, whereas I only ever see chemistry if the writers aren't trying too hard at it. (Sadly, this leads to me almost never liking canon ships.)

...I am a fan of Zelda/Byrne in ST though, as weird as it sounds. I envision it as kind of a platonic romance, because her interest in him is more of an innocent crush, and his is more like a vaguely forbidden fondness for this girl who turned out not to be nearly as helpless as he expected...but it's definitely there. In my opinion anyway.

That's fair enough! Ships are pretty subjective, and there's definitely been canon ships that haven't grabbed me in the past - these ones just happened to do so.

Oh man, if Zelda wasn't like... twelve or thirteen and the ending didn't happen, I'd be shipping them so much. There is definitely swathes of potential, it just didn't... work out, heh. Platonic romance works nicely! I'm also very fond of older!Zelda/Alfonzo, thanks to a friend.
