This ship is mainly based on Iain Glen being hot, though. I doubt anyone seriously shipped them before GoT.

Exactly this. Jorah in the books wasn't worth a second thought, and if you only read the scripts for the TV show, you'd probably think dude was a serious loser.

But Iain Glen is so, so dreamy. With that voice and those shoulders and that broad chest and his rugged manliness and the way his brow furrows in concern so cutely....siiiigh.

I liked his character in the books. I much prefer putting Iain Glen's face to the character LOL, but I thought he was interesting and sympathetic.

Yeah, pretty much. Book!Jorah was pretty much a deconstruction of the Nice Guy, in that he was always an idiot who only valued women for their faces, and had entitlement issues, and Dany was just Not Into Him Like That. TV!Jorah is a sexy bastard, and charming as well, so everyone wants to see him get naked.
