I was entertained by a few select scenes, but most of the film was unintentionally hilarious. Batman Begins was the same way. Watching them seriously, just makes it boring.

Bane's voice was far from intimidating-- it was just silly. Batman's face looked like he was trying to kiss the audience with his fish mouth. Talia's Scooby Doo villain death. Catwoman's heels. The comical sci-fi super generator plot device. Stereotypical gay business men villains.

On a positive note: Scarecrow's court. It was just fun and I actually REALLY enjoyed it.

It was the way he said things-- it was obnoxious, but whenever he'd start on a high note, it was like he was a cartoon. It reminded me a lot of when the guys on MST3K would dub over actors with their own comical lines.

My friends and I couldn't stop laughing on the last shot of him as Batman in the Bat. Where it just closes in on his face-- and HE'S DOING THE FUCKING MOUTH. /died

Batman's face looked like he was trying to kiss the audience with his fish mouth.

This really fucking bugged me all through the trilogy. I think it was partly that Bale just wouldn't fucking clench his jaw properly to look intimidating, but the cut of the mask really doesn't help either. I don't know why the costume department saddled Bale with such an unflattering cowl. I mean, look at Keaton's cowl in the 1989 film — it made him look like Batman, instead of a guy wearing a too-small Halloween costume.

I agree. The Keaton Cowl was perfect for masking him (despite its neck problems). Not only did it cover enough of his face to make it believable that people wouldn't recognize him, but it allowed him to emote with his mouth in a way that truly made it intimidating when he DID talk.

I think Scarecrow's court was my favorite too. It was fun and just over-the-top compared to the SRS BUSINESS rest of the film, and just so Batman.

It was like seeing an alt!Version of Joker's court from BTAS. <3

I totally agree. I really wish they let other characters go more in depth like that. Batman is supposed to be fun in a dark way-- and the court captured that. Honestly, it's the only Batman-like thing I actually felt was legit in the entire trilogy.

THIS. Loved that bit so fucking much, it was just so gloriously dark and extravagant and the piled-up desks was some of the most awesome imagery in any superhero movie ever.

The court was the best part, even if it felt a bit too heavily inspired in Stalinist trials.
