When I was a tiny little sock, I always thought Scotty and Uhura should end up together. It's been a while since I've watched TOS (as in, about fifteen years), and I can't even remember if there was any reason I thought that or if it was just mini-me's version of shipping two characters I liked for not other reason than that, but I remember watching this movie and going "...wait a minute- WHAT?!"

Scotty/Uhura is heavily implied in Star Trek V, so maybe that's where you got the idea? Either way, I totally ship it in TOS-verse.
