So what, if any, are the secrets/topics you avoid?

That last secret today about loli and shota and child porn? Not even touching that comment section. Just scrolled on by. Usually anything dealing with loli/shota type of stuff I avoid, just because of the obvious wank bait.

Some wank is fun, some wank just depresses or angers me so I avoid like the plague.

I stayed away from that one, too, tbh. Also, Loki secrets of any kind bore the fuck out of me now, because there are a zillion people on either side making their case about why other people should like/hate him, and I'm just like I DUNN CARR.

I wasn't going to touch it, but then I just had to leave snide comment. Usually, though, I will scroll on by stuff like that.

Pretty much any thread that could turn into serious business, unless I actually have a real thought to contribute. Sometimes I feel like stretching my brain to talk about some heavy stuff, but mostly I'm here to have fun.

I wish I had the ability to send information to my younger self and go tell her this comment word for word and to do the same thing.

Hindsight is 20/20, etc.

But, um! I think I'll start avoiding threads about serious topics in general. Not even read them anymore. I was supposed to come here for fun-times, not... yeah.

I only didn't stay away from the loli and shota and child porn one because I just. . .the idea of child porn and child abuse bothers the fuck out of me.

I don't usually avoid commenting on topics, unless they're not relevant to me.

It's funny, but it's almost like the more a topic bothers me the more likely I am to avoid discussing it here on F!S. Topics that matter to me or I'm passionate about or the like, I'll dive in. Topics that bother the fuck out of me, avoid.

But then it also depends on my emotional state on any given day. I'm moody as fuck and sometimes I can deal with stuff and sometimes I can't.

It honestly depends on the day for me too. But if I'm having a dark day I usually actually don't comment on anything at all.

Yeah, I avoided the loli/shota debate, too.

Ones involving child porn/abuse were the first to come to mind. I've had way too many arguments with people various places online defending child molesters that it's just not even worth it to argue with them anymore.

Yeah, the child porn one. Also anything having to do with weight.

-Loki/Hiddleston secrets because it's probably about how attractive/unattractive/poor baby/Snape-like he is, and that's boring.

-actually, secrets about "omg this person is so fugly idgi", because, also boring.

-secrets with a rape trigger warning. or secrets with a lot of personal trauma or such and such in them. won't touch them because I feel like anything I could say will sound disingenuous and out of place. I'm not good at offering sympathy either tbh.

-obvious trolls. I might browse them to see who inevitably fell for them, or to drop a silly comment.

-usually the shota/loli ones too. those threads always seem to retread the same ideas every time ("I CONDEMN YOU TO THE SPECIAL HELL" "naw naw it's not hurting real children" "BUT IT WILL" "BUT IT WON'T"), and it just looks like everyone is anon and there to call everyone assholes or something. I just can't. Although it does make me laugh that one would use anonymity to speak out against lolishota of all things though.

-spam secrets. Like the Bolton or Hermione Snape ones. I like the images used since they're often funny, but I just don't find the secrets very funny :( repetitive jokes might not be my thing I guess.

secrets that start racewank. It's getting boring

I usually just skip the incest ones, and anything about rape. And the child abuse ones too.

None of the discussions on those have ever been fun to be in. It's a bit like being covered in slime to read them. And not fun slime. Sad slime that's creepy.

Anything that can lead to debates over racism. It gets ugly really fast and comments are so easily misinterpreted.

yeah, some of those have been genuine misunderstandings over context when people stop and calm down and try again

Anything triggery. I've got nothing to say on pretty much anything that falls under those topics.

Like everyone else mentioned: Loki secrets (yawn) and child porn stuff.

I also avoid SJW like the plague.

Secrets that involve topics like abortion, especially if it's about OP getting an abortion. Or if it's about the OP dealing with something like being a pedophile in fandom or being in love with their sibling or something.

And stuff that gets iffy like a rape survivor making a secret about disliking non-con fic and such because they feel it belittles their experience. If I can't say anything useful I won't even bother, and the debates that come out of it never produce anything helpful either.

- Anything triggery. I've been sexually abused along with experiencing other types of abuse, so I'm not touching anything that might upset me like that with a ten-foot pole.

- Anything that's going to be filled with SJWs, SJW trolls, and anti-SJW people. Mainly because both sides of the argument can be summed up as "I'M RIGHT AND YOU'RE WRONG GTFO!" Where as I'm a person who has participated in organizations and protests and takes up issues on a case by case basis. So this whole "you're either with us or against us" mentality with SJWs and anti-SJWs makes me back up out of a thread. I'm all for civil discussions that are there to inform and free of any wank, but you will never find that here.

- Any thread that's vicious towards someone's appearance. Whether it's because they're "too fat", "too thin", "ugly", "fake looking", etc. I don't care if it's directed towards a cosplayer, a person in fandom, an actress, whatever. I don't hang around judgmental assholes like that in the real world, and I don't plan to spend time near them on the internet.

- Anything too negative and full of people saying "I could write it better!" It's fine if people want to vent about a book/episode/movie/character/ship/fanfic etc. Go for it. I won't stop you. But that kind of place just isn't my thing. I go to fandom to relax and be happy.

Yep, reading the first comment to it was enough for me. There's NO WAY I'm going into that secret's comments!

yup, the loli ones... the arguments tend to be recycled and i don't even want to touch it. i saw it and .. nope. just nope. i already got myself into a youtube comment fight today, i do not need any of that mess.

Anything that falls under or touches the umbrella of anime and K/JPop, because I just don't give a fuck. I'm also done with "OMG, am I a bad feminist?!!!" secrets.

IAWTC. I really have better things to do and enjoy in my life than stressing out over wankbait secrets.

Ones that bore me.

I love the wankbait secrets because I'm always up for a good discussion (argument).

- thinspiration
- "you are the ______ to my _____"
- wank over perceived misogyny/sexism in fandom
- After this week, I will probably avoid the yaoi- seme/uke wank secrets from now on too.

It's a shame, as some of these topics are important and interesting, but people get far too nasty and cross the line.
