You're also looking at something that came out at least fifteen years ago. I am not disagreeing that it is ridiculous or safe to do this. In fact at that point this garbage was marketed to young boys and men (because GASP girls don't read comics!), which also fed the ideas you are talking about. I am not disagreeing with you. What I am saying is that with EDs it is never that simple.

The OP was discussing EDs, so that was what I commented on. You are right. This "pull a random number" idea that Marvel had then (and still has because it's very much the boys club) is dangerous and bullshit. But over simplifying the problem is not doing anyone any favors either.

Oh, for sure, what's done is done when it comes to stuff from that long ago. I don't disagree with you that EDs are complex, either - I don't believe for a second that OP would have been issue-free if not for that Rogue trading card. But if she was able to identify it as a trigger, that's huge, and my point was that it's important to recognize it as such, even as we acknowledge her illness's complexity.
