I will admit that I don't read the comics, but I fail to see how the ability to absorb powers/life energy changes the density of muscle.

Rogue absorbed the powers of Ms Marvel at the time that card would have been printed--Ms Marvel has pretty much Superman powers. Flight, invulnerability, super strength.

And that changes what about the weight of her muscles?

It might. It might not. My point is she's not human, and her actual strength does not correspond with human musculature. So what her muscles look like vs what they weigh is not apparent.

I'm pretty sure the whole point about mutants was that they are human.

There's also the fact I only ever see this argument trotted out as to why female superheroes can. 1. be sculpted like an athlete with implants but weigh 95lbs. 2. Be built like a supermodel and still run and jump. 3. Have Gumby spines that allow them to stretch out 6 or 7 feet and twist three or four times. 4. Fight in high heels and nipple pasties.

That woman is 5'10". Would you say she weighs 120? She's 165.

That argument is never brought out for why a female in comics could be a little pudgy and still doing the same thing. Or why the stat cards couldn't read 5'4" and 300lbs and look ordinary. It's a bad argument when it's used to defend status quo "Well, why shouldn't the Avengers be all straight white males? They're not real people" Well, if they're not real people, why couldn't they be all gay? Trans? Black? Female? If they're not real people, why does it matter? If she's a mutant, why couldn't she be listed at a more realistic weight? Or heavier?

But that makes absolutely more sense. Basic laws of physics say that, if anything, she should weigh more.
