And that's pretty unfortunate. After going through five years of art school, nearly every artist/student I've met had the whole 'it's just images/words! stop stifling free speech! we're not hurting anyone!' mindset. People like that should realize how fucking stupid they sound.

Also, people who use the 'victims use is as therapy' excuse-yeah, some media is good as an outlet. But there's a HUGE difference between works that explore issues like abuse and rape thoughtfully and loli fap material. Context-learn it, people.

I'm far from being a prude/free of weird fetishes, but it says alot about your moral character if you enjoy this sort of thing.

I think it says more about your ability to grasp the various cause-effect relations and consequences on a very broad aspect, and possibly maturity thing.

People who argue for free-speech in this context think they're doing the right thing and that people wanting to stop lolicon, etc. are the oppressors that will somehow start a chain reaction that will end with, I don't know, the government abolishing free speech and killing or imprisoning anyone criticizing the rulers (never mind that we already have journalists chased, tortured and killed for criticizing governments, whatever the laws against child porn might be, so there are obviously many different interests at play and it's not just one sliding scale like people like to pretend it is).
