From what I've seen so far it's really good and I'd definitely recommend it. I started watching it back in January so the last part wasn't finished/completely subbed yet, but basically there are three sub-series with four episodes each: Sylvarant, Tethe'alla, and United World. The animation is beautiful, pretty much straight out of the game cinematics. I pretty much love the Tethe'alla opening as much as the game's original intro, and although I'm not that big of a fan of the song the United World opening is pretty much all you can ask for as a fan of K/Y/M/Y including a brief, happy father!Kratos with baby!Lloyd scene. There's also a bunch of silly bonuses where all the characters know that they're part of an anime and are constantly fighting with each other over future plot drama and their rankings in the inevitable popularity polls.

The big thing that I keep wondering though is which direction they'll take regarding Zelos' fate; they've even had him freak out about it in the bonuses. And I don't know if the episode that contains that part of the story has come out yet so... yeah.

And best of luck regarding the urge to play it since if you do want the OVA it probably will only make you want to play it more. I ended up having to ask a coworker to borrow his Wii since my old gamecube is at my mom's house somewhere 5000 miles away... and I just went back there a couple weeks ago, goddammit, should've picked it up then. Anyways. Yeah. I've kind of wanted to play the sequel too, but I've always heard so many mixed reviews about it that it makes me wary. Plus I heard that Sheena loses her summons, and that's always a cheering prospect, having your favorite character get nerfed.

I'll definitely have to see it, then! Ohhh, that'll be interesting to see, which direction they'll take with Zelos...

I've played part of the sequel but I just couldn't get into it the way I got into ToS. I didn't really like the main characters (the original's characters were a lot better) and there was the whole monster catching system that I just didn't like. I might try it again because I didn't get too far in it, but it was pretty disappointing considering it's the sequel to my favorite game..
