Re: Other graduate students out here
When I started my program, I had just broken up with along term boyfriend, moved across the country to start school, and did not gel with anyone in my cohort for the first several months (Unless we were drinking - which admittedly we did alot). Everything turned out okay with my cohort and I ended up finishing my course work and moving back home to complete my thesis (which is good, cause my thesis focuses on a Park Planner from the area, and his archives are here)
But I still have serious issues with my department, thesis advisers, and field. So, that's occasionally what makes it hard to finish.
I mean, I want a job, but my field is so fucking weird and crazy at times, I want to burn shit down. (this is ironic, since I am a preservation planner, so I should want to save buildings, not destroy them.)
