I'm sure it is a better movie. But I can't stand Arnold. For some reason, I just can't stand anything he's in. And while he's an asshole in real life, it isn't for that reason. I just can't buy him in any role, and I basically cringe every time I watch anything he's in.

I'm not even sure why. I actually liked the Conan remake and I can't stand the original. I think I'll remain anon for this because it should probably be a secret. But that's the way I feel.

As much as an asshole as he is in real life, he defines action hero.

Like for that certain genre of straight Hollywood action film with no other pretensions, Arnie is untouchable.

He's like the Ali of blowing shit up, you just won't find anything close now he's stepped down.

I don't think you're ever supposed to "buy" Arnold. In any role. I think you have the wrong attitude towards Arnold movies - they're deliciously unreal, ridiculous, over-the-top actioners. That's what Arnold is great at as an actor - portraying a combination of uncomprehending confusion, stoicism, and utter over-the-top ridiculousness.
