Look, if you overreact and get angry, maybe stay away from fandom drama? And large fandoms aren't for everyone. My most beloved fandoms are tiny and almost drama-free (at least on LJ). One of them feels like a family because of all the awesome people I've met.

I try! But inevitably I start rant about stupid BS on my journal enough that I have to leave anyway. I know it's ridiculous - which is why I'm not actually going to join any large fandoms any time soon.... I should just try writing fic for one of the shows I like with a smaller fandom that will stay small or something.

You could rant on your journal but flock it so it's private and only you see it. That way you get to vent but you won't upset anybody.
