I unironically think that Trapped In The Closet is good. At least through Chapter 9 - there was just no way Kells could top the ending of Chapter 9 and he was a fool to try. But from chapters 1 through 9, it's kind of amazing - it's interesting musically and it's a way of presenting the lives of ordinary people and telling their stories that's actually pretty novel, I think, making them the subject of a style of musical presentation that almost never touches those kinds of stories. It's over the top, sure, but there's also real emotional honesty going on there.

And of course, the ending of Chapter 9 is one of the greatest things ever. Fuck, it's amazing.

I firmly believe that the whole of Chapter 9 (esp. the ending obviously) is quite possibly the best thing that ever happened in music, and I don't even particularly like R Kelly...

When all of the Earth is reduced to a radioactive waste, or we've all ascended to be energy beings, or whatever, and some aliens come and start looking over the remains of human beings, Trapped in the Closet Chptr 9 is the one video they need to watch to comprehend all of human culture and existence. I'm like 90% sure of this.
