First all, a link to the awesome Speech Accent Archive is needed in discussions like this! It's fascinating reading/listening, just browsing the different accents.

This speaker is very similar to me. I'm from Los Angeles CA. Specifically I'm from the San Fernando Valley, although the "Valley Girl" accent is kind of a myth. I would say, "I'm gunna turn off the light and then go to bed." CA accents (at least the SoCal ones) don't elide letters a lot, and we say o's and a's fairly flatly- the way the speaker in the SAA link says "Bob" is very distinctively Californian.

I love that archive. Though, none of the people from Texas really sound like me.
