no that was wrong of me.
Anyway yeah, it's sort of a depressing reminder, because I remember pretty much growing up with the books--I was literally eleven when I got the first one. And then I go 'oh god it's been years hasn't it?' I think with the movies and the fandom it's easy to forget.

NO I DON'T CARE THAT IT CAME OUT IN 2005. I AM A SLOW READER OK. SEVEN YEARS IS NOT ENOUGH TIME FOR ME.
I was nine when I started reading them, and it was a huge part of my childhood, to the point that I don't even REGISTER that I was a child fan of it, because it was just something that was always there in my life. It was really less like a fandom and more like a part of me that came and went, like a childhood friend or something, so it's weird to me that so much time has passed by this thing that in my mind that is something that always stands still. I think mentally it will always be a spoiler alert that Sirius Black dies, even though the book came out like ten years ago.
