I don't know for sure but odds are good that no, they won't appear as much more than a cameo in Avengers. The Guardians don't have much interest in the Earth specifically when there's an entire Universe to watch out for, whereas the Avengers are largely Earthbound (They CAN go into space, but they don't do it a lot).

My guess is that they'll face a different Thanos-related threat, but not Thanos himself. If Thanos does head for Earth, they'll probably be too occupied to get there in time.
