(Anonymous) 2012-08-29 07:37 pm (UTC)(link)I've read a bit about how authors write books to be cast for films. William Goldman has written a bit about this in fact. Generally they do end up going with the way the writer has described them, but as Goldman says, you have to be careful not to describe an actor too closely in case they aren't available, a lot of big writers who get adapted for the screen have been known to write with certain actors in mind.
