#about me

(Anonymous) 2012-08-31 11:25 pm (UTC)(link)
Kind of like me, except most times my replies aren't very detailed. I get a few sentences in, and then I feel like I sound stupid or my comment is repetitive, so I just stop and press the back button.

Reading other people's opinions, especially detailed and well-researched opinions, is how I spend a lot of my time on the internet. That's mainly why I'm on Fandom Secrets, to read the comments! If you think your comments are worth reading, then by golly post, no matter how long they are!

Me too. :(

I find it a neat trick to not read the status quo feedback, and just type away, hit send, then look away and ignore what I just did. When I get in those moods where I type a bunch of awkward praise/thoughts/excited crit/yayness.

Like a hit-and-run of words.

This happens to me all the time. I know I already comment a good bit, but still.

You should comment then find something else to do that captures your attention, so you don't fret about replies.

I do this all the tiiiiiiiiiime

sigh. Literally all the time.

I really appreciate comments that are well thought out, sometimes you might think people don't care as much about your comment because they don't respond to your hard work. But the truth is that we're out here appreciating the hell out of it, we're just not articulate enough to praise it as much as it deserves.

Heh. Replace "fandom stuff" with "why their opinion is wrong" and that's me. With stats and scientific articles and such. But, then I realize that I'm coming out the loser in that "battle," because I just wasted my time.

I wonder why it seems so distressing to have long comments. Because I do this all the time, then I feel like "nobody wants to read this crap" and then I delete it all and go crawl in a corner. :/

Not alone, OP!

You know, this doesn't sound exactly healthy to me... at least send them sometimes? And if you get a few positive replies, maybe it would be easier for you to post more?

Take a writing class, or go to the library and get yourself a "how to be a good writer" book. Trust me, a lot of it has to do with not being able to put your thoughts in the least number of words, which is a skill professional writers have and teach.
