Hi! So a few days ago, I posted about AfterElton's slash tournament. Things were going pretty well for Troy/Abed's bracket, moving from 7000 votes behind to 5000 votes ahead in two days, until yesterday, when voting was limited to once per hour due in every bracket. Since then, out competitor has caught up and we've been neck and neck with them. There hasn't been more than a twenty vote difference between the two pairings.

Voting ends tonight and midnight EST, and it would be super awesome if you guys could put in a vote for Troy/Abed here (http://www.afterelton.com/poll/2012/08/ultimate-slash-madness-tourney-round-one?page=1,2). If you wanted to actually vote once an hour until poll closed that would be above and beyond fantastic, but even one vote would be really helpful. If you wanted me to put in a vote for one of your pairs in return, I'd do that too as my only other ship in this competition is Sterek.

Clex shipper till the end, but I think it's kind of awesome how close this race is!

Yeah, it's been really interesting! No matter the outcome, I'm really proud of my fandom for putting up such a good fight, especially since it's not just been Troy/Abed shippers, but all sorts of Community fans that have been voting.

It's cool! I don't want anyone to vote against a pairing they love, as that would totally go against the spirit of the tournament. I don't know much about Smallville, but I checked the "Clex" tag on Tumblr and their fans seem pretty cool!

Voted! Clex was my first (and still beloved) slash ship, so my heart sank when I made that choice. But, as they say, out with the old and in with the new!

Plus, it sucks that with the exception of Shawn/Gus from Psych, all the slash pairings are White Guy 1/White Guy 2. I want these two make it to the final four at least. Troy won Fandom March Madness last year, so here's hoping he's the first black man to make it to the end again! :)

Yeah, it's disappointing but really reflective of fandom :\ I was surprised that Morgan/Reid from Criminal Minds wasn't there, as they are the biggest slash ship in the fandom and CM made it to AfterEllen's poll with Emily/JJ. If I had known about the poll back when they were taking pairing suggestions, I would have rallied for them as they are such a cute pairing!

I'm not sure if we'll make it to the end, as we have Destiel in our division, but Community fandom will try our best!

I swore to myself never to go back to that AE man slash poll.

A few days ago I noticed tumblr fangirls going all, "I JUST DEVOTED 20 MINUTES STRAIGHT TO VOTING SUPER HUSBOS ♥ NOW I'M GOING TO SCHEDULE THE NEXT 20 FOR WINCEST LAWLS." Oh yeah, I was rolling my eyes and making fun of these losers for taking the poll so seriously. Nonetheless it reminded me to go cast my votes. And so I did, but then I noticed that Legalorn was beating Sam/Frodo, and suddenly stupidity happened.

I voted so many times for "the right ship" in such a short period, that the poll told me I needed a cooling down period. Not just that though. I also caused that LOTR poll to freeze due to "suspicious activity." Oh my god what is wrong with me. I became that tumblr fangirl I heckled 10 minutes prior. I'm so ashamed where did this terribleness come from!? It wasn't even an OTP I feel strongly about.

Okay. I'll go give you a Trobed vote. Only a single one! And I am instantly closing that tab right after. I don't wanna risk being that fan again ;_____;

Oh yeah, I was doing that hardcore voting for Trobed, negl. It's a dumb shipping poll, but that marathon voting is fun somehow xD Btw, "suspicious activity" just affects your IP address for the freeze period. It really doesn't mean anything.
