I really don't have enough feelings about the series to argue with you, but no matter how powerful their abilities in theory were, they still pretty much sucked in comparision to the guys most of the time is what I'm getting at. They were weak overall (like in characterisation etc.), not just weak abilities.

But I could be wrong, it's been a long time and as I said, I stopped caring. The Saga of Sasuke's Bitchfest was just too much at one point, haha.

Eeeeeyeah the eternal Sasuke bitchfest got me to stop reading too, I will admit. :P I guess I have all the feelings because I re-read part 1 recently and caught a ton of things that I hadn't noticed before.

I can understand! I was a huge fan once (I was younger too *cough*) and even if the show is(was?) childish and weird and predictable sometimes, it just has a lot of neat characters and storylines.

Maybe I should re-read too %D

I remember that talk Kakashi had with Sasuke where he basically said "Other people have been through shit too, get over yourself" AND I GENUINELY EXPECTED THAT TALK TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE. But no! You don't understaaaaaaaand only my pain is reeeeeaaaaaal!!

The sad part is that I think it MIGHT have if the message actually had more time than, what, 2 hours to sink in? But nope, Orochimaru worked too fast, dangled candy-in-the-form-of-brother-killing-power in front of Sasuke and lured him away successfully. =/

I love playing this idiot, but he is still an idiot.

Well that explains a lot... It doesn't make me like him more (you brave, brave thing! But hey, any emotional reaction to characters is usually good, because it proves that we care %D), but I guess I'm less angry about that scene now.

Yeah, that scene wasn't fun. Suddenly nothing but revenge mattered to him. =/ That's sort of when my interest in him as a character plummeted, especially after the Kakashi speech. Even if it was too short of a time for it to really take hold, I don't think that's an excuse for his actions either.

Also thank you. :) It's kind of funny that a troll!secret got us to talking about Sasuke's serious flaws.

His self-centeredness was kind of astounding, yes. But I guess the most... despicable? (don't know a better word sorry, I don't mean it that strong) Aspect of it was how he put others through pain just because he couldn't see anything other than himself.

It's been an eternity since I talked about Naruto, this has actually sparked my interest again!

I love when trollsecrets do that %D

I know what you mean. I think to a point he was able to start feeling sympathy towards others again, but... Well I keep referring to the Chuunin exams but that seems like that's where everything happened.

I'm glad that it has! I still like the series... Okay, I like PART I of the series, and although I don't like where some of it leads it still fascinates me to see how and why it went the way it did.
