I actually like it when people use the word 'slut' against men OR women in an equal-opportunity and playfully mocking (rather than nasty and derogatory) fashion. I dunno, I guess I just like the idea of words' meanings being warped by the progression of time and values. So that what was an OMG HORRIBLE SEXIST INSULT in the past can eventually turn into a totally casual harmless term, so if someone tries to insult someone for being promiscuous the response is "lol no1curr".

Of course that doesn't mean it's still not used in a nasty derogatory fashion and can't be legitimately damaging in those contexts right now, given that accusations of sexual promiscuity actually still can have unfair consequences, but in non-serious contexts...eh. *shrugs* I prefer to twist culture to my whims rather than bend over backwards to accommodate the cultural ideas of people who lived centuries before me, assuming the baggage is light enough.
