Nick at Nite in the mid-90s: summer marathon
Sometime in the mid to late 90s, over the summer, Nick at Night did an all-night marathon of a different show a day. Andy Griffith was Monday, I think, and I Love Lucy was one of the days. Since the themes were all instrumental, Nick at Night had them with some lyrics to help promote it. The one they did for the Andy Griffith show is the reason I've never liked it, and I want to listen to it again. I always think of it when I hear that theme.
I also wanna know I'm not imagining this. I have such a happy memory of practicing the unicycle in the basement while the TV plays I Love Lucy.

What you are describing sounds familiar.

(Anonymous) 2012-09-01 03:32 pm (UTC)(link)There's a lot of 90's Nick at Nite promos floating around YouTube... maybe pore through some of those collections? (so tempted to spend time doing that today now...)
